The band was called Blades and we were influenced by both jazz - the rich sounds and rhythms of the swing era – and blues. The Graham Bond Organisation with Graham Bond on Hammond organ, Ginger Baker on drums, Jack Bruce on bass and Dick Heckstall-Smith on sax was a massive influence on us.
